Day-by-Day Itinerary

Picked up from the airport or your accommodation in Nairobi City for a scenic drive to Samburu National Reserve. Drive north through the fertile highlands of Kenya, past vibrant tea and coffee farms. Pass through the equator and arrive at Samburu in good time for lunch. Embark on your first game drive this afternoon to experience this wildlife conservation haven famous for the Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and the beautiful oryx. Also home to the cultural heritage of the Samburu people (the butterfly people). Retreat to the camp at sunset.

Depart for an early morning game drive in search of the Samburu 'Big Five' , breathtaking panorama, flora, and fauna unique and endemic to Kenya's Northern hemisphere. Return for a late breakfast. Head out to the nearby Samburu cultural village for a one-hour tour of this tribe with a very rich tradition. The Samburu people wear a striking red cloth wrapped like a skirt (shukka) and white sash, enhanced with many colorful beaded necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. Spend the middle of the day relaxing like the animals do, then head out again at 16:00 for the Samburu Special Five before retiring late.
